Top 20 Toys for 2012

| November 5, 2012 | 13 Comments

Letter to Santa ClausWalmart has recently released its list of the top 20 toys of the 2012 holiday season! Some years, it can be very difficult to get your hands on certain toys once they make the list. If any of these happen to be on your child’s Dear Santa list, then keep your eyes open for them. If you see these items, grab them quickly, because they might be gone the next time you go! Here are the toys that are expected to be the biggest hits this year:

1. FURBY. Remember this little guy? I had one when I was barely out of high school, before having children. These cute gremlin-like (Gizmo, not Stripe!) are interactive, and their clicks and whistles become recognizable English words over time. Well, at least they’re supposed to; mine was pretty unintelligible most of the time, even after I had it for a while. They’re the number one toy of the season, though, and Walmart has them available for $54.

2. LeapFrog LeapPad 2.  This is geared toward kids aged 3 to 9, and costs around $100. It looks like a handheld game console, but it’s actually so much more, including a camera, video recorder, and downloadable apps featuring everything from music to art to math and reading games and more. If you have LeapFrog Explorer cartridges, they will work in this system, too.

3. VTech Inno Tab 2. This is similar to the LeapFrog LeapPad, but costs less and is geared toward slightly younger children. For about $70, you can give your child an educational toy that has a camera, learning games and apps available.

4. Little Tikes iTikes Map. You have your iPad, iPod and iPhone, and now it’s your preschooler’s turn to have an Apple device of her own. The iTikes can be used alone so your child can play and learn about world facts, dinosaurs, music, the solar system, cats and dogs, or can be used with your Apple device (iPhone or iPad) to play with various apps. Walmart offers it for $50.

5. Playskook Roctivity Walk ‘N Roll Rider. This is a ride-on toy for your fledgling toddler, complete with the bells and whistles that will attract your baby’s attention and encourage him to walk and dance along to the music. It’s available for under $40 and would make a great addition under the tree for your little one!

You can find the rest of the list at the Walmart News website.

Are any of the items on the Top 20 list on your child’s holiday wishlist this year?

Of a mother of three kids and trying new things to suprise them is tough, thanks for list but I don’t think I’m going to get the Furby when I was kid I didn’t see much about it and it was only $29.99 and now it’s $54.00 I would have to see it in action before spending $54.00 on a toy that’s gonna sit in a toy box
