Safer Chemicals Act Jessica Alba

Several months ago while watching a TED video I was enlightened and scared enough to make a change for my family. I suggest you read the Unhealthy Truth about our food it is eye opening a scary to find out about our food supply. It was the author of that book, Robyn O’Brien shares her personal story and how it inspired her current path as a “Real Food” evangelist. Something has drastically changed around us that the incidence of cancer has shot up. More and more it is starting to become painfully aware that the products that we use everyday are full of toxic chemicals and we don’t even know it.

Back in 1976 a bill was put into place concerning a Safe Chemical Act and a revision of the Toxic Substances Control Act is required. Since then 84,000 toxic chemicals have been found to be in the everyday products that America’s use. Petroleum based products are starting to have very harmful effects on our children. This week actress and activist Jessica Alba went to Washington, DC to speak out against toxic chemicals in everyday products. Toxic chemicals in American products that are unregulated. We need reform to a bill called the “Safe Chemicals Act” and we must try to raise the bar so that these companies are more responsible as to the things that they put into the products. From mattress, cleaners, to shampoo’s, companies are putting toxic chemicals in everyday products – and our children become the test subject to see what will happen. We all want to create the healthiest environment possible for our children but we are surrounded with toxins.

This is what has been happening in the food industry lately read…..Petition Kraft To Get Rid of Artificial DyesToxins in Our Kids’ Foods, Do food dyes make kids hyperactive, and Canned Foods to Avoid with the most bpa phthalates – it is a scary time but we as parents must be informed.
