Jumping Into Spring With Crocs
You might not be quite ready for flip-flops, but once the snow melts for good, you can put your winter boots away and get out your spring foot fashions. One of the first signs for me that spring was here was when I started taking out my Crocs. Because they’re made of a rubbery material, it was no problem if they got wet in April showers. They’re lightweight, unlike boots, and come in a wide variety of springy, bright colors. Crocs don’t just come in the “duck foot” clog shape that you might remember from when they first came out; they actually are now available in several styles. Here are a few:
- Retro Flip Wedges: If you want to wear flip-flops but need a bit of height to your shoe, the Retro Flip Wedges will make your feet happy. They’re non-skid, so if it’s wet out, you won’t go sliding around once you step inside. They are also nicely textured on the insole, so you won’t feel like you’re falling out of your flip-flops. These are available in fuschia, black and navy, with green, fuschia and red accents, respectively.
- Flats and Mary Janes: You can even wear Crocs to dress up a little bit when you choose flats or mary janes. These come in several types, from ballet flats to flats with a heel strap or a strap across the top of the foot, or both. Some styles have ventilation holes cut in and others are solid, so you can take your pick, depending on what you like. Some spring-like shades available include pinks, blues, greens, aqua and neutrals.
- Character Clogs for Kids: The classic Croc clogs are very kid-friendly, and their comfort can’t be surpassed. Crocs offers a variety of cute cartoonish styles that kids love. Some examples include clogs with Legos or Mickey Mouse shapes on the Crocband, Disney Princess clogs, Hello Kitty clogs, Scooby Doo clogs and Barbie mary janes.
- Loafers for Men: If your husband, father or other special man in your life wants the comfort of Crocs but doesn’t want to wear clogs, he can choose from a variety of comfortable loafers. These come in different materials. For example, the sole of the Cove Sport is molded croslite, but the top is water-resistant leather. The Islander Sport has a rugged look and is molded croslite throughout. The Waveseeker is croslite on the sole and stretchy rainbow polyester on top. You’ll be sure to find a Crocs shoe that fits his style!
Now is a great time to buy Crocs, because with the warmer weather just around the corner, you’ll be able to wear them on nice days very soon. What is your favorite style of Crocs?
Ah, the poor maligned Crocs! They have gotten such a beating from folks lately. I still like the look though – I like the retro flip wedges myself.
When my son was 9 months old he had the cutest little pair of Crocs ever!
My fiance loves the professional ones for work.
I love my Crocs, wear them all year round.
I have been wanting a pair of these for a long time! They have so many styles it’s hard for me to choose!
Sadly, I don’t break out the sandals and no sock shoes until it’s at least 80. My little toesies get cold. 🙂
I’ve never actually worn Crocs, but I don’t see why they are so maligned. I’ve seen a lot of weird shoes out there, the Crocs are not that off the normalcy range. But I guess it’s all a matter of what one prefers. I think as long as Crocs are comfortable, I’d be fine wearing them. I’ll have to find a pair for myself soon.
I’m not a huge fan of the appearance of Crocs, but I can’t deny that they are very comfortable.
I think Crocs are just so ugly and would not wear them, however, having said that, I do have a pair of Croc flip flop sandals that I actually love because they are so comfortable. Ugly, but comfy..lol.
Although they are not pretty, I live in my “old-fashioned” original Crocs in the summer1
My whole family loves Crocs. They are super comfortable!
I am still wearing the original styled crocs that I have had for several years.
I never liked plastic shoes until my mom bought me a pair of croc like shoes. They are all worn out and I need to get a new pair. Guess it’s time to go to Gander Mountain or Dicks Sporting Goods to find some new ones. Actually, I’ve always wanted to try the ones that have the removable fuzzy liner.
I have crocs now that are wedged and not only give me more height but are much softer to walk on.You feel like your floating in these because there is so much padding in the wedge.I love them.
I love my crocks! They are so great and comfey and you really cant destroy them….unless you go over one with the mower 🙁 Sad day that was.
When I worked at a Nursing home, I worked 12 hour shifts and my feet would hurt so darn bad after work that I would cry. I had been a stay at home mom for a little over 3 years, so yeah they were hurting lol. My mom recommended I try a pair of crocs, and instantly they helped me. I went home, and yeah my feet were still sore but it no longer hurt to the point of me crying!!! Ever since I have owned a pair and so has my husband and daughter we all get new ones every year lol
