Top Baby Names of 2010

The top baby names list for 2010 was announced earlier this week by the Social Security Administration, and many come as no surprise. However, some names that made the list might have been inspired by unexpected trendsetters, particularly reality tv stars.

In honor of the Twilight Movies, once again Isabella was the top girl name and Jacob was the top boy name in 2010.  (sorry Edward fans…the name did not make the top 10)

An interesting trend over the past few years are people naming their children after reality tv show stars.  Chloe has grown in popularity due to the Kardashians.  This year the name Maci grew in popularity after one of the teen mom’s on the MTV reality show, and her son’s name, Bentley, ranked as number one for the biggest trending name for boys. Knox also made the trend list after one of Angelina Jolie’s adopted child.
