Dry Cleaning and Allergies

| July 15, 2011 | 0 Comments

Researchers have found a direct link to dry cleaning and allergies, among other things.  You may have no choice but to dry clean some of your expensive or delicate clothes, however there are things you can do to minimize your families exposure.  Use only dry cleaners that have stopped using either trichloroethylene or perchloroethelyene, which are chemicals linked to nerve and kidney damage, as well as cancer.  Air out your dry cleaned items before bringing them indoors and if you can, dispose of the bag.  If you do bring the bag inside, dispose of it immediately in a garbage can outside.  Not only are the chemicals dangerous, but the plastic wraps are dangerous for small children.
