FamilyValentinesValentine’s Day is on a Saturday this year. This means that your kids will be with you all day to share the fun. So why not make this Valentine’s Day special and plan some activities for you and your kids to do throughout the day? Here’s a few ideas to get you started.

Pictures

You are probably going to dress your kids up in a cute Valentine’s Day outfit anyways so you might as well take advantage of that and plan some family pictures. Make sure that wherever you have the pictures taken at, it is somewhere fun so that your kids will be happy participating in it. Dress the entire family in Valentine’s Day inspired colors like pink, red and white.

Heart Shaped Meals

Your kids will get a kick out of seeing their food cut into heart shapes. For breakfast, make heart shaped pancakes, for lunch make heart shaped grilled cheese sandwiches and for dinner you can make a heart shaped meatloaf. Don’t forget to add side dishes that are the color red like strawberries, raspberries or watermelon.

Treasure Hunt

Instead of just giving your kids a Valentine’s Day card or gift, send them on a treasure hunt to find them. Make little clues that are in the shape of a heart and scatter them around your house with the last clue leading to the treasure. Just make sure that the clues are age appropriate and that your kids will actually be able to figure them out.

Arts And Crafts

Crafts are a great way to keep your kids busy while leaving you with a nice memento from Valentine’s Day. You really don’t have to do a lot of planning when it comes to crafts. All you have to do is give your kids paper cut into the shape of a heart and supply them with markers, glue and glitter and they will make a special creation that you can both enjoy.
